Forever Lost

Behind a rock, beneath a tree
Where oh where can you be
So far away, so out of reach
My bloodstained hands, do beseech

Behind the hill, through the woods
Where I lie, where I should
Where are you now? Where do you sleep?
I need you now, I feel it deep

The wound, it grows
As you travel far
And no one knows
Just where you are

But they know me
And where I lie
They know of us
They know our tie

I see you now
You were so loud
And now you’re still
Upon that hill

And now you run, away again
I close my eyes, for I am spent
I wipe the blood, with the moss
on the trees. I’m forever lost

A more abstract piece of mine, I think. I’m not sure.
So here’s the good news! I am being published in an anthology for young writers! I’m very excited…it’s a poem that I have not put on this blog, and I don’t know if I should considering that there are rules against my work being anywhere else..so, maybe after it’s published I’ll put it up. It’s actually not my best work and to be honest I don’t think I even liked the poem very much, but, if they liked it then wutevs!! My first publication! Hooray..! I guess I’m on my way…

But I entered this contest with no hopes of winning..because I do feel like my writing isn’t what publications are really looking for..but apparently not!

This has really inspired me to put my work more out there! I’m going to try to submit my work to literary journals and things like that you know, to get my name out there…

If any one knows any good literary journals or contests or anything that looks for abstract, narrative pieces like mine then please drop a comment below! I’m excited to delve into the publishing world!!

Gemstone eyes glint through the sand
I see them shine away
Fading with the setting sun
In such a disarray

Fly with the wind, soft desert bird
Don’t let them bring you down
When their mud homes begin to crack
You’ll be who wears the crown

I’ll throw you a line, so you can have
All that you don’t know
If you believed that you were right
You would never slow

Fight the battle, win the war
Rebuild my house of mud
Cast me a line, like I cast you,
Pull me in from the flood

Help me when the sand rains down
And I’m stuck here in my hole
But if you stay where you are now
You’ll never reach your goal

Sand pharaoh, sweet listener
Of all that cannot give
Fly with me, through this land
find us a home to live
